Senior Pastor

Pastor Jeremy Davis was born and raised in Beloit, Wisconsin. He attended Concordia

University, St. Paul, MN, earning a B.A. in Theatre in 2004. After working as a care

attendant for a quadriplegic woman, God redirected his path and sent him to Concordia

Seminary, St. Louis in 2005. Janelle was born in Illinois, spent a few years of her

childhood in Denver, and finally settled in Fort Wayne, Indiana as the daughter of an

LCMS pastor and Army chaplain. She attended Concordia University, St. Paul and

graduated with an education degree and a love and gift for music.

The two were married in 2006, and in 2007 Jeremy served his vicarage at Ascension

Lutheran Church in Wichita, KS. Upon graduation from the seminary and the birth of

their first child, Talia (2009), they served at Arms of Grace Lutheran Church, Winder,

GA where both Delaney (2011) and Avi (2013) were born. After much work in the

community and several attempts at revitalization, God desired to close the doors of this

church and clearly led Jeremy and his family to the Army Chaplain Corps in 2014.

During his military service, Janelle spent time as a teacher, homeschool instructor, church

music coordinator, music lessons teacher, and a stay-at-home mother. The Army sent the

Davis family to Fort Riley, KS; Schofield Barracks, HI; and Fort Knox, KY. Jeremy also

traveled to Kuwait, Japan, Guam, and Alaska to provide religious support to Soldiers. In

2022, God directed the Davis family on a journey back to the parish and here to Alaska.

Pastor Jeremy, Janelle, Talia, Delaney, and Avi are overjoyed to join the St. John family.

They look forward to many years of working together to pray, serve, and encourage.
